LSPN Connect: Tackling COVID-19 with the Medicines Patent Pool Thursday June 25 at 11am ET/4pm BST

Life Sciences IP Review is delighted to invite you to join LSPN Connect, your brand-new membership community for the life sciences. Our opening keynote comes from Charles Gore, executive director at the Medicines Patent Pool, this Thursday June 25 at 11am ET/4pm BST

The Medicines Patent Pool: Voluntary Licensing to Better Use Patents in the Fight against COVID-19.

In this unmissable keynote address, Charles will set out the work of the Medicines Patent Pool (MPP) in relation to the pandemic.

Charles will seek to dispel some of the misinformation around licensing and explain how the MPP aims to balance the need to protect innovation and the need to fight a pandemic.

Charles took up his post in July 2018. In under two years, he has advanced the work of the MPP in HIV and hepatitis and is opening up opportunities for the pool's model of voluntary licensing to be used for patented medicines on the WHO’s essential medicines list.
